Who We Are

The Bulago Islamic Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to providing humanitarian aid and support to communities in need. Guided by the principles of compassion and justice, we deliver a wide range of services, including food relief, healthcare, water wells, orphan and widow support, disaster relief, and more.

We also work to preserve Islamic values and heritage by building mosques, supporting refugees, and ensuring the proper distribution of zakat. Our goal is to uplift the most vulnerable and create sustainable change through kindness, empowerment, and community support.

Our Mission

Bulago Islamic Organization is a non-profit charity based in Bulago Village, Mbale, Uganda. Guided by the mercy and teachings of Allah (SWT), our mission is to provide essential humanitarian aid and support to those in need, in accordance with the values of Islam. We are dedicated to alleviating suffering, promoting self-reliance, and uplifting communities through acts of charity and compassion.

Our Programmes

Our organization addresses the pressing needs of the most vulnerable populations in Uganda through a variety of initiatives, driven by the spirit of Islamic charity (sadaqah). Our core programs include:

Food Relief & Kurban Offerings: Distributing food and kurban meat to those who are struggling, especially during the blessed month of Ramadan and Eid.
Water Wells & Sanitation: Drilling wells to provide clean and safe drinking water, along with sanitation projects to improve health and hygiene in local communities.
Healthcare & Medical Support: Offering medical care, healthcare services, and support to underserved populations, especially those facing illness or injury.
Orphan & Widow Support: Providing ongoing assistance and care for orphans and widows, ensuring they live dignified and secure lives.
Ramadan Support & Zakat Collections: Collecting and distributing zakat to those in need, with special initiatives to support families during Ramadan.
Refugee & Disaster Relief: Offering aid to refugees and disaster-stricken communities, providing food, shelter, and emergency medical care.
Mosque Construction & Preservation: Building mosques and preserving Islamic properties and teachings to ensure the continuity of faith for future generations.
